Somehow this Bohemian traditional chandelier company have brought the beauty of the Elven fantasy world of Rivendell, so eloquently portrayed by Tolkien to a living reality. Schonbek themselves describe the Rivendell collection of crystal chandelier as worthy of a category unto itself. They described the intricacy of the designs as being inspired by the natural shapes of leaves, flowers, buds and vines all beautifully intertwined; - no arguments there.

These Schonbek crystal chandeliers use an intricate structure of channel setting crystal beads and jewelled stones within semi precious and precious metal branching frameworks. Somehow appearing as organic and sprouting tendrils, the Schonbek chandelier artisans have created seemingly living and growing, sculptures of lighting. The metalwork for these illuminating works of art have a fresh yet raw intricacy that is so reminiscent of the fleeting glimpses most of us probably had of that magical Elven world of Rivendell through the grandiose cinematographic Lord of the Rings epic.
